BLOCK CHANNEL - "Strictly Business"
I am one man with an acoustic guitar, synth, drum machine, mic and an iPad.
I am coming to the end of a 35 year career in business where I have served many, with nothing but a pension to show for it.
I have written and produced my music from my spare room over the last 6 months and happy to be an anonymous “Banksy” as I continue to make music about the things that mean much to me.
I try to be original, contemporary but my early years listening to Gary Numan, The Art Of Noise and Massive Attack continue to inspire; I hear elements of their work in mine. To create a memorable riff or a hook with base lines and mid tones that resonate with listeners would be just great.
I have written and produced fourteen tracks in 6 months. I hope “Strictly Business” encourages listeners to try my other original music from other genres including jazz, folk, pop, punk, drum and bass present on my first album Sum of My Fears. Each track about my personal experiences
The fear of failure, past mistakes, financial insecurity, concerns for my family in a volatile world are always close to my heart and no doubt add a little edge to my painting and music writing.
I think this track is current and accessible. It tells a story that could resonate with anyone worried about a partner/partnership/contract plus it creates a little bit of mystery…who is block channel and what is the truth behind this track?
